Ricky Gervais doesn`t "see the point" in getting married
The 50-year-old comedian has been with partner Jane Fallon for almost 30 years but says they have no intention to tie the knot because they are happy as they are.
He said: "I don`t see the point. We are married in everything but the ceremony. We share everything and everything is in both names. We`ve lived together for 29 years - how are we not married except in the eyes of God?
"It`s just irrelevant. Our `marriage` has lasted longer than most marriages."
The couple are also adamant that they don`t want children, with Ricky saying: "We`ve both decided that we don`t want them. I love kids and my niece and nephews but, when they start grizzling, you can walk away from them. And they`re sponges for the first 16 years, too."
Ricky, 50, also admits that while he has been romantic to Jane in the past, he refuses to do anything over-the-top.
In an interview with this week`s new! magazine, he said: "I`ve done the cliche things - trips to Paris and jewellery - but I haven`t done any stunts. I haven`t turned up on a white horse. Our romantic moments are mucking around together."
